Each month at Vinoteq, we take a small group of wine lovers on a guided tasting journey — one region, one story, four to six glasses. No jargon. No fuss. Just great wine, good company, and a few things you probably didn’t know about wherever we’ve landed this month.

What to Expect
Wine Club evenings take place in Vinoteq’s cellar bar on Cannon Street, Dover — a relaxed, intimate space that feels a world away from a stuffy tasting room.
Over two or three hours, your host will guide you through a carefully chosen selection of wines from that month’s featured region. You’ll taste as you go, learn what makes the wines tick, and have plenty of time to ask questions, compare notes, and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts.
Each tasting includes:
- 4–6 wines selected to showcase the breadth of the region
- Guided tasting notes — we’ll explain what you’re tasting and why, without the wine-snob vocabulary
- Regional context — a little history, geography, and grape story to bring each bottle to life
- Meat and cheese platters to accompany the wines
- Good conversation — our groups are small enough that everyone gets involved
Tickets are £30 per person All tastings are bookable individually — there’s no membership or subscription required.
The Afternoon Tipple Club takes place at 1pm and over a gentle couple of hours we will sample 3 wines from around the world with nibbles to accompany. Wine evaluation sheets are available to hone your skills, but the focus is enjoying the wine first!

Where We’ve Been
Our wine club has taken the cellar bar to some remarkable corners of the wine world. Past evenings have included:
- Sicily — volcanic soils, indigenous grapes, and the wines that are changing Italian wine’s image
- The Rhône Valley — from the granite slopes of the north to the sun-soaked garrigue of the south
- Alsace — France’s most Germanic wine region, and one of its most underrated
- Chile — old-vine Carménère and cool-climate surprises from South America’s most exciting wine country
- Moldova — one of Europe’s oldest wine cultures, and a revelation for first-timers
- Christmas Sparkle — a festive evening of Champagne, Crémant, and Port to close out the year
No two evenings are the same. We choose regions that have something genuinely interesting to say — whether that’s an unusual grape variety, a fascinating history, or simply bottles that punch well above their price.

Vinoteq is Kent’s only dedicated wine bar with a live jazz cellar. We’ve been pouring wine and hosting events in the heart of Dover since 2021 — and the Wine Club has been central to what we do from the beginning.
We’re not a big chain, a subscription box, or a loyalty scheme. We’re a small team of wine lovers who enjoy sharing the things we find. The Wine Club is the most direct expression of that.

How many people attend each tasting?
We keep groups small — typically [8–21] people — so the event feels relaxed and there’s plenty of time to ask questions and taste at your own pace.
Do I need to know about wine to enjoy it?
Not at all. Most of our regulars would describe themselves as enthusiastic amateurs. The events are designed to be accessible and enjoyable whether you’re completely new to wine or have been collecting for years.
Can I buy the wines I taste?
Often, yes. We stock many of the wines we feature, and our team can help you track down bottles we don’t carry.
Can I buy a Wine Club event as a gift?

Is food included?
Meat and cheese platters or similar are included with your ticket. The cellar bar also has a full drinks menu available throughout the evening.
